Technical Diving International (TDI)

TDI is the largest technical certification agency in the world.  As one of the first agencies to provide training in mixed gas diving and rebreathers, TDI is seen as an innovator of new diving techniques and programs which previously were not available to the general public.  Training with TDI has provided divers with the opportunity to see such wrecks as the Andrea Doria, Lusitania and the Prince of Wales.  TDI divers have explored underwater caves in Spain, Australia and Mexico and assisted as support divers on world record freedives done in the Red Sea.

TDI’s professionals are held to the highest standard to ensure quality training throughout the world.  This means that as a diver taking a TDI course, your instructor will have documented his experience and knowledge prior to achieving that rating.  As an instructor candidate taking a TDI course, your TDI instructor trainer will have gone through the paces to achieve the highest level of training that TDI offers.

TDI is committed to offering the highest quality training supported by the latest materials with the most up to date information and techniques.  TDI’s materials are written by authors that acutely conduct the type of diving they are writing about.  Those same materials are updated as technology and equipment change.

ISE stands for INNERSPACE Explorers. It is an organization with the intent to promote underwater explorations in all its fascinating aspects. It was founded in 2008 by internationally renown instructor and explorer Achim R. Schlöffel.

In 2002 Achim founded THE-INNER-SPACE.COM, a company dedicated to the highest quality dive training and exploration around the world. THE-INNER-SPACE.COM still serves as a resource center for the diving community all over the world. From 1999 until 2008 Achim has taught various courses and levels in technical diving for GUE where he was the only German speaking Tech 2 instructor worldwide.

"..our customers always asked for the most rigorous and demanding training. They want to get the real experience, feel the real limit, and in the end know that they had to give everything. When I realized that I could not offer that anymore I knew it was time to move on..." For that reason, ISE was founded by an active explorer and builds its core of technical instructors exclusively from people that have a similar history and are active in what they teach.

So the purpose of ISE is to bring to YOU the skills, and the knowledge to perform real underwater exploration, so that not only you can survive in the extreme conditions that exploration diving often entails, but also to thrive on them. ISE training is divided in different levels. While most training levels build upon each other, each level enhances your ability for exploration diving. So you can always match your training level to the need of the expected conditions.

Even if you are new to exploration or technical diving, or wish to stay in the familiar waters of recreational diving, ISE have the means to also improve your recreational exploration diving experiences. Our basic level of teaching is suitable for all levels of divers without special needs for additional equipment. ISE programs are less restricted by a financially influenced philosophy, as ISE is not connected to any particular equipment manufacturer. Although ISE is clearly influenced by the DIR Philosophy, it is open for new input and leading technology that may have its place in the diving field.

So if you dream to dive boldly, where no diver have been before, you are at the right place and with the right people!

Technical diving is scuba diving’s “extreme” sport, taking experienced and qualified divers far deeper than in mainstream recreational diving. Technical diving is marked by significantly more equipment and training requirements to manage the additional hazard this type of diving entails.
Tec diving isn’t for everyone, but for those who hear its challenge call, the PADI TecRec courses are the answer.

Here at Gozo Technical Diving we offer you the all PADI TecRec program from diver up to Instructor level. Many years of experience in the field made us well know on the market around the world.

Technical scuba diving is defined as diving other than conventional commercial or research diving that takes divers beyond recreational scuba diving limits. It is further defined as and includes one or more of the following:

  •     diving beyond 40 metres/130 feet deep
  •     required stage decompression
  •     diving in an overhead environment beyond 40 linear metres/130 linear feet of the surface
  •     accelerated decompression and or the use of variable gas mixtures during the dive

Because in technical diving the surface is effectively inaccessible in an emergency, tec divers use extensive methodologies, technologies and training to manage the added risks. Even with these, however, tec diving admittedly has more risk, potential hazard and shorter critical error chains than does recreational scuba diving.

Be ready to invest time and lots of effort in your course, we are not here to make it easy, but for sure you will be more then happy with the result at the end of your training.
