Technical Diving Courses at Gozo Technical Diving

At Gozo Technical Diving, we offer a comprehensive range of TDI, SSI, and RAZOR courses at both diver and instructor levels.

Quality is at the heart of every training program we deliver. Our courses are conducted to a high professional standard by experienced and highly qualified members of our instructional team. Our objective is not simply to issue certifications, but to develop knowledgeable, skilled, disciplined, and self-reliant divers who are genuinely prepared for the level of diving they wish to undertake.

Gozo Technical Diving is also equipped with a state-of-the-art filling station and a full mixed-gas blending facility with two dedicated blending panels, allowing us to support a wide range of technical diving activities and training programs.

Course Dates and Scheduling

We do not operate with fixed course dates. Courses are scheduled on a daily and weekly basis, allowing us to offer greater flexibility to our students. Please contact us directly to discuss your preferred dates, course requirements, and availability.

Medical Fitness and Diving Insurance

Although a medical examination is not mandatory for every technical diving course, we strongly recommend that all participants undergo an appropriate diving medical examination before beginning their training.

Medical examinations can also be arranged locally in Gozo through the Hyperbaric Medical Centre.

We strongly recommend that every student has suitable diving insurance that provides coverage for the depth and type of diving involved in their chosen course. If you do not already have appropriate insurance, we recommend obtaining coverage from DAN, AQUAMED, or another recognised diving insurance provider.

Training Fees and Certification

Please understand that paying for a course does not mean that you are buying a certification.

Certification is earned by demonstrating the required level of knowledge, skill, judgement, discipline, attitude and overall diving competence.

For this reason, certification fees are normally not included in our course prices, as successful certification cannot be guaranteed in advance.

Technical diving is inherently more complex and involves greater risks than recreational diving. Completing the minimum number of dives or academic sessions specified in a course outline does not automatically guarantee certification.

If, after completing the scheduled course program, you have not yet reached the required performance standard, we will do everything reasonably possible to help you develop the necessary skills and knowledge. This may involve additional training dives, workshops, or academic sessions.

Any additional training dives required beyond the standard course program will be charged at €200 or €270 per dive, depending on the type and level of the dive. Decompression gases are included.

Our priority is to ensure that every diver we certify has genuinely achieved the required standards and is properly prepared to dive safely and independently at their certification level.

Instruction fees are charged per day of training, with a minimum booking of one training day.

Standard Instruction Fee — €200 per Day

The standard instruction fee is €200 per person, per training day and includes instruction, cylinders, weights, decompression gases for both the student and instructor, videos filmed during the course, transportation to the dive sites, instructor gases, and 18% VAT.

Diver Training with Tom Steiner — €300 per Day

Personal training with Tom Steiner is charged at €300 per person, per training day.

The fee includes instruction, cylinders, weights, decompression gases, instructor gases, videos filmed during the course, transportation to the dive sites, and 18% VAT.

Instructor Courses with Tom Steiner — €400 per Day

Instructor-level training with Tom Steiner is charged at €400 per training day and includes instruction, cylinders, weights, decompression gases, instructor gases, videos filmed during the course, transportation to the dive sites, and 18% VAT.

Special offer for Instructor candidates:

Bring one student and receive a 50% discount on your Instructor course training fees.
Bring two students and your Instructor course training fees are free.

Any applicable agency fees, e-learning materials, certification fees, helium, and other specifically excluded costs remain separate.

Private Training — €400 per Day

For divers who prefer completely private, one-to-one training, the fee is €400 per training day, including 18% VAT.

Helium

Please note that helium is not included in our standard instruction fees.

Helium is charged separately at €0.100 per litre, including the required oxygen and air top-up.

Booking and Deposit Policy

A 50% deposit is required to confirm all bookings, including courses and guided dives.

Deposits are non-refundable in the event of a no-show, illness, an incomplete course, cancellation, or any other reason preventing the booking from being completed.

However, the value of your deposit will remain as a credit with Gozo Technical Diving for up to two years and may be used toward a future trip, guided diving, or training at our facility.

Additional Online Training

To help you prepare before your course, we also offer access to our online Scuba E-Learning by Tom Steiner video training.

These videos provide useful tips, techniques, and detailed demonstrations of how various diving skills are performed, helping you arrive better prepared for your practical training.

Enrollment in these additional online videos is entirely optional and is not a requirement for participating in a course with Gozo Technical Diving.
